Create a Task

Creating tasks and posting them to the board makes work expectations visible to everyone involved in a project. Teamy allows you to set a due date, describe the task and assign it to specific people.

In the left side panel, locate and click on the "Workflows" option.


 
Once you've 
created a board, utilize the "Add a task" option in any column to create tasks within that column.



Alternatively, hover over the vertical ellipsis located at the top right-hand side of the list name and select "Add a task" to create new tasks.



When creating a task, you will have various options available, including naming the task, assigning users, setting due dates, defining priorities, adding labels, adding a checklist, entering a description, and attaching files.

⚠️ Task items including the due date, priority, labels, checklist and description will only become available once a task title is added.



To add users to the task, click on the "Assign User" icon.



To assign a due date for the task, click on the "Due Date" option.



Click on the "Priority" to choose the desired priority level for the task, ranging from high, medium, normal, to low.



To create or add a label for the task, click on the "Add Label" option.



To create a new label and assign a specific color, click on "Create New Label" and utilize the color picker to choose a color for your label.



To edit a custom label, simply click on the pencil icon next to the respective label.



While in the edit view, you have the option to delete a custom label. It's important to note that the five predefined labels cannot be deleted.



Utilize the "Checklist" option to incorporate a list within the task. Our guide here provides additional steps for adding a checklist.



Provide a detailed description for the task to ensure that the assigned users clearly understand its goal.



Enhance your task description by using formatting options such as bold, italics, and ordered lists.



Use the pin icon to attach files to the description field from your computer or a specified URL.



Click "Save changes" to apply the edits made to the description field.



Click "Add files" to attach a file directly to the task card.



⚠️ To sort tasks within a column, click on the actions icon located on the right-hand side of the column name. In this view, you can also add a task, duplicate tasks, rename tasks, and archive tasks.


To rearrange the column titles, simply click and drag them to the desired position.



You can customize the columns displayed in your view by clicking on the title. This action will turn the background gray, effectively removing it from the board. To bring it back into view, click on the title again, and the background will return to its original blue color.
