Tagging a user in a message specifically addresses the message to them, singling it out for their attention. This is accomplished by placing an "@" symbol before their username. Once tagged, the user will receive a notification about the message. Other users in the department or group discussion will also see the message, but will not receive a notification.

Open up the message screen selecting a department or by clicking on either the user’s name in the left side panel. Click in the type text here... field.

Enter “@” into the dialog box, and a list of users appears, allowing you to scroll through and select the person you wish to tag. Alternatively, continue typing the user's name and click enter/return to select.

Once the user is selected, compose your message.

Send your message and the tagged user receives a notification if enabled.
