Direct messages allow you to correspond with other users on the platform in private, real-time exchanges. There are several options available to begin a direct chat or message with other users.

Navigate to a department and at the top right side you will see a list of users that are in the department.

Click on "Message" icon at the top right of the user's profile.

Alternatively, at the bottom left side panel click on the "+" icon next to Team Chat then "New Chat."

Users can also head over to the
"Direct messages" tab in the left side panel to view and begin a direct chat.

Click on "New Chat" and select the user(s) you'd like to chat with directly. Type in the user's name/email or scroll down to locate the user.

Once the user is selected click on "Start chat."

After selecting the user(s) you'd like to DM (direct message) they'll show below the "Team Chat" tab. The user's on/offline status will be indicated via the green or gray icon above their image.

When you begin a DM with a user for the first time you will see the user's status in the getting started message.

At the top left side of the direct chat you will see the "Add Sticky" option to attach/pin files and SOPs in the message.

At the top right side you can see the user's local time and location (if configured under their profile).

Click on the user's name to reveal a dropdown, displaying their email, local time, and location.

At the bottom are the message options including adding emojis, formatting, files and viewing a list of tasks that are assigned to the user.

To close a direct message or DM click on the "X" icon next to the user's name.
