Threads are sidebar conversations within a department or direct message. They allow individuals to participate in tangential discussions without involving everyone in the conversation.
Hover over the message and click on the reply icon.
This will open the thread window on the right side.
After sending your message in a thread, the person you replied to receives a notification. Departments where threads are started and have other users may result in them chiming in as well. All the thread replies are indicated in the initial message.
Use the Threads tab on the left side panel to review thread conversations.
When viewing messages within the Threads tab, if you'd like to jump to the initial message that was sent in a department or direct chat hover over the message and click on Open in department/chat.
