Threads are sidebar conversations within a department or direct message. They allow individuals to participate in tangential discussions without involving everyone in the conversation.

Hover over the message and click on the "Reply" icon.

This will open the thread modal on the right side.

After sending your message in a thread, the person you replied to receives a notification. Departments where threads are started and have other users may result in them chiming in as well. All thread replies are indicated in the initial message.

Use the "Threads" tab on the left side panel to view and reply to thread conversations.

When viewing messages within the "Threads" tab, if you'd like to jump to the initial message that was sent in a department or direct click on "Go to this chat" on the right side.

Each thread conversation is labeled at the top to indicate whether it belongs to a department or a direct/group chat.
